ExtRadar Privacy Policy

ExtRadar is a Chrome extension that helps users evaluate Chrome Web Store extensions by showing growth, ranking, rating, and risk signals for the extension page the user is viewing.
Information ExtRadar processes
- The current Chrome Web Store extension page URL is read only when the user opens the ExtRadar popup. ExtRadar uses it to identify the extension being analyzed.
- The extension ID and selected trend range are sent to the ExtRadar backend to return extension intelligence data.
- For anonymous usage, ExtRadar stores a random anonymous identifier in the browser to enforce daily usage limits.
- For signed-in users, ExtRadar processes the user's email address and authentication session through Supabase Auth.
- ExtRadar stores usage records such as user ID or anonymous ID, extension ID, selected trend range, request date, and request timestamp to enforce quotas and support caching.
Information ExtRadar does not collect
- ExtRadar does not collect full browsing history.
- ExtRadar does not read page content outside the Chrome Web Store extension detail page needed for the active lookup.
- ExtRadar does not collect passwords, payment information, personal messages, or files.
- ExtRadar does not sell user data.
How information is used
- To identify the Chrome Web Store extension currently being viewed.
- To fetch and display extension intelligence in the popup.
- To support account login and authenticated usage limits.
- To enforce anonymous and signed-in daily request quotas.
- To cache repeated requests so the same parameters can be served without consuming quota for a limited period.
Sharing and service providers
ExtRadar uses Supabase for authentication, database storage, and backend functions. The ExtRadar backend may request extension intelligence from data providers using the extension ID and trend range. ExtRadar does not send user email addresses, authentication tokens, or full browsing history to extension intelligence providers.
Storage and retention
The extension stores login session data, a random anonymous identifier, and UI preferences in Chrome local storage. The backend stores usage records and cached extension intelligence data for product functionality, quota enforcement, abuse prevention, and reliability. Data is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes.
Security
ExtRadar uses HTTPS for backend requests. Provider API keys are kept on the backend and are not included in the Chrome extension package.
User choices
Users may use ExtRadar anonymously within the anonymous daily quota, sign in for a higher quota, sign out from the options page, or remove the extension from Chrome. Users may request account or usage data deletion through the publisher contact email listed on the Chrome Web Store listing.
Changes
This policy may be updated when ExtRadar changes its data practices. Material changes will be reflected by updating this page.
